Dear Giant Man-Eating Cricket Cicada Hybrid,

I know you are in the kitchen. You don’t need to tell me. Everyone else in this house maintains levels of low and/or tolerant volume. Please be quiet and go back to what ever evil laboratory you came from. You have worn out your welcome. You didn’t even bring any food. You just waltzed into the kitchen like you belong there and then proceeded to go on and on like a gossipping schoolgirl. We don’t want to hear what the neighbors did to their loving room. I think it’s time you hit the road.

Sincerely,

me.

well. you did complain of having to pee all the time. but does that happen in the beginning of the pregnancy to or just when the baby’s big enough to push down on your bladder? anyway, I can’t wait for mini Wesleys.

OH GOD I DO PEE ALL THE TIME!

I also look forward to mini wesleys.

That scene where Betty gets told they aren't using her for the coke commercials

and she starts crying.

I feel so bad for her. This whole season I just want one happy moment for her and she just never gets it.

I love season one Betty Draper so much

like I genuinely feel for her. She feels her life slipping out of her grasp little by little, and she feels the winds of change. she tries so hard to remain that June Cleaver type house wife and maintain that ‘american dream’ lifestyle and she knows she can’t and she ends up not being able to.

And I love her because she tries so hard and puts on a brave face around others. Season one Betty Draper carries a lot of weight on her shoulders; more than the show and viewers give her credit for, I think. She has to deal with her childish husband who is secretive and aloof, she has to raise her kids, keep the house together, and maintain an image. I mean she carries the entire responsibility of making her family appear respectable and socially acceptable.

Her therapist calls her anxieties childish and “full of petty jealousy,” but in the era of keeping up with the joneses and initial reactions always being “But what will people think?!” she has a lot to bear.

I know she had to change as seasons progress, but I wish they would have made her stronger and more independent. I feel like, with the whole bird shooting scene and the smacking of her neighbor scene, Betty possesses so much more than she ended up with by season 4.

I wish she could have stayed this way instead.
